Being a new creature on this planet, babies are super excited to know and discover their new world. It is very normal for them just to spend hours looking at their hands. So, sometimes it seems that being a parent is too boring. But that doesn’t mean that babies do not get bored. But yes this is true that babies do not get bored just as adults or even as children.
Babies do not waste time on things that do not have enough amount of learning values. And this could be considered as boredom. So, you can see that a baby is essentially a kind of learning machine and keep exploring every bit of her new world in order to gather as much data as she can about this world. In case she comes across something she knows already then she will lose interest and will continue finding something, which is new to her. And the problem is here when she fails to find a new object.
Babies are always motivated towards finding new things. When they start crawling, they start exploring their surrounding, finding new things on their own. But before that, they are totally dependent on their parents. Sometimes just watching something happen, is also a kind of learning or exploring for a baby. But if you made them stay at the same place eventually you could lead them into boredom.
As babies have explored very little of this world, eliminating their boredom is not that hectic. Just hand them a totally unseen object and let them explore it. A spoon or a measuring cup can do the work of keeping them busy for a while. A set of car keys will also make babies overwhelming as they have seen parents holding them, searching for them. The same overwhelmed also can be achieved by giving them a coffee mug that your baby sees regularly in the parent’s hand but never get a chance to hold it. And you no need to buy new toys for them.
