Summer has already started heating up the weather. It is the season of hot and sweaty summer, which will drain all our energy. Even we adults also try our best to get relief from the hotness and humidity. Not only our energy but the hotness of summer also saps away the appetite of your little one. So here are some tips for your little one to keep her cool in this summer.

Avoid the sun

The best way to keep your baby cool during the summer days is to keep her away from the direct heat. Avoid going out in day time, specifically on the duration when the temperature is on its peak and that is from 10 am to 4 pm. If your little one is less than six months old it advised to keep her indoors in hot days.

Choose the right clothing

Clothing is another important thing you need to keep in mind in order to give your little baby some relief in hot sweaty days. Go for light clothes, which are also loose and have less buttons and strings. Go for cotton fabric as it allows your baby’s skin to breathe properly. Avoid any kind of fabric that irritates her skin. Give special attention to bedtime clothes and even more if your baby sleeping in a room with ac as the temperature is quite low.

Give her a spongy

In a hot summer day, a sponge bath can give your baby relief. For sponging off use lukewarm to cool water, but do not wet your baby thoroughly. Just use plain water instead of any soap water as it can strip her skin’s natural moisture.

Use a hat

In case your baby is exposed to the sun for a short time make sure that she is wearing a hat with a wide brim. It will protect her face from sun heat. Just check the fabric of the hat, it should be made of a breathable fabric, so that baby’s head doesn’t get overheated.

Keep her hydrated

Keeping your baby hydrated will also help her to stay cool. Both for breastfeeding and bottle feeding babies hydration is really important and the number of wet diapers will tell you how much hydrated your little boo is. Don’t forget to keep yourself hydrated.

The coolest place for sleeping

Place your sleeping baby in such a place, which is away from the direct sunlight or in the coolest place of the house. As the sun’s position changes, you may need to change your baby’s sleeping place too. It will be better if you figure out those places before.

Use a cloth diaper

Diapers or nappies are one of a kind of clothing. All of the disposable diapers are made of plastic and it prevents proper airflow. Using a cloth diaper or cloth nappies will definitely be a great idea. It will do the same work as a disposable diaper and also give your baby relief.

Give her summer foods

Some foods help to keep us cool from within. If your baby is on solid food add millets like barley, ragi, bajra along with some cooling spices such as cumin, fennel, coriander, and turmeric. Don’t forget to add watermelon, tomatoes, and obviously cucumber to her diet chart. These fruits not only keep her cool but also keep her hydrated.

Be choosy with massage oils

Summer comes with the hotness and stickiness. So, we hope you don’t want to make it worse for your little sunny. Instead of heavy massage oils go for light oils just like olive oils or coconut oil. Skin soaks these oils easily. If it is still making your baby’s skin too much oily skip the oiling part for some days.

Use stroller fan

Using a stroller fan is also a brilliant idea on the go. A clip-on fan is portable and super easy to use. You just need to clip it on your baby’s stroller.
